Welcome to 2020. An International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife set aside by the World Health Organization to celebrate nurses all over the world in honour of the 200th birth anniversary of the mother of Nursing, Florence Nightingale.
Year 2020 is definitely to be a year to remember, not just marked in history as the Year of the Nurse and Midwife, but also stamped in the great exploits set to be achieved in diverse countries by nurses worldwide. Nurses and midwives are the backbone of every healthcare system, thus strengthening the capacity for the achievement of Universal Health Coverage by year 2030. Yes, 2030, just 10-year countdown.
